Dear Conference Attendees,

I am a Brazilian Doctor and Professor of Medicine at The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). I have been studying and teaching medical semiology, mainly in metabolic disorders such as Cardio Metabolic-Renal Syndrome (CMR-S), for more than forty years.

Metabolic Map 3.0 (MM 3.0) is an adaptation of Metabolic Map (MM) for understanding who the patient with CMR-S is. There are a lot of different forms of presentation and the exam based on the evidence of the CMR-S is not enough for planning an individual strategy for treatment.

It is an honor and great pleasure to explain how it works. It will be a great opportunity for the participants, including young and senior researchers, scientists, clinicians and academicians, to gain knowledge from up-to-date research in CardioMetabolic-Renal Syndrome.

It’s my immense pleasure to be part of this international conference and scheduled to deliver few keynote presentations on nutrition and nutraceuticals, particularly on “Brain Health Beyond Cognition: Exploring the needs of an Aging Brain” and “Globalization of Ayurveda”.  

We are increasingly realizing that the one disease–one target–one drug concept does not always lead to successful disease control. This concept has led to new developments in drug discovery including systems-based approaches using the principles of multitarget pharmacology. It is generally accepted worldwide that modern pharmaceuticals will remain out of reach of many people and “health for all” may only be materialized by the use of adequately assessed nutraceutical/phytomedicinal products including Ayurvedic medicines. The brain is a complex organ that neuroscientists are still attempting to understand. Due to the multifactorial nature, the role of nutritional and nutraceutical products in cognitive neuroscience is complex and to be investigated through;y. The globalisation of Ayurvedic medicines and their spread to the postmodern West is a paramount challenge and I’ll discuss all these challenges and opportunities, particularly in nutrition and nutraceutical domain.

A growing body of evidence indicates that many obesity risk factors originate in the earliest phases of life. The first 1,000 days—from conception to two years of age—represent a uniquely sensitive window that shapes long-term health trajectories and food preferences. During this period, rapid brain development and sensory learning occur, while nutrition, lifestyle, and environmental exposures exert profound and lasting influences on metabolism, behavior, and overall health outcomes.

Dietary intake during early life plays a pivotal role in modulating childhood obesity risk. Healthy infant feeding practices not only support optimal growth and development but also help establish food preferences and eating behaviors that often persist into later childhood and beyond. Infancy, therefore, represents a critical opportunity to promote positive dietary habits and foster lifelong health.

Moreover, the early development of taste perception and food pleasure significantly influences children’s subsequent food preferences and choices. Understanding how sensory experiences shape eating behaviors offers valuable insight into designing effective prevention strategies and public health interventions. As we gather in this historic city, may this conference inspire dynamic discussions, groundbreaking research, and collaborative efforts that will advance our understanding and strengthen our impact in improving global nutrition and child health.
