Malnutrition in children is a major global health concern, particularly in developing regions where access to sufficient and nutritious food is limited. It can manifest as undernutrition, leading to stunted growth, weakened immune systems, and cognitive impairments, or as overnutrition, resulting in childhood obesity. Both forms of malnutrition have long-term consequences for a child’s physical and mental health. Research in this area focuses on the importance of providing balanced diets, rich in essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamins, and minerals, during the critical growth periods of infancy and early childhood to support proper development and long-term health.
