Every nutritional requirement is within a safe or desirable range. There is a danger of harmful health impacts if you exceed these safe or ideal levels. Water, like any other nutrient, can be harmful if ingested in high or excessive amounts. It all depends on the dosage. Overdoing on certain minerals, such as iron or vitamin A, can result in poisoning or acute toxicity, and in extreme circumstances, death. Excessive intake of most nutrients can result in negative health effects or chronic toxicity. If consumed in large quantities, any nutrient, even water, can be fatal. Excessive intake of most nutrients is associated with a risk of negative health consequences (chronic toxicity). Overconsumption of calorie-producing nutrients (carbohydrate, fat, and protein), as well as alcohol, raises the risk of obesity and certain chronic diseases, whereas isolated amino acids can cause imbalances and toxicities.
